NJ Transit Trailblazer Sign Inventory and Management

New Jersey Transit employed the services of Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (GPI) to improve NJ Transit’s roadway trail blazing sign system located along roadways in proximity to the Raritan Valley rail line. NJ Transit owns and maintains signs along New Jersey roadways that direct motorists to the most convenient railway stop. GPI inventoried signs and suggested updated placement of signs based upon the results. This presentation will outline the steps taken to make this project successful.

This session will demonstrate how the latest aerial HD-LiDAR (High Definition / High Density) sensors dual-equipped with color aerial cameras are redefining the technical approach to surveying and mapping for design-scale applications. Live demonstrations on the data and accuracy will be provided. If you haven’t experienced HD-LiDAR data, this demonstration will undoubtedly impress. Most importantly, we will discuss how engineers, land surveyors and GIS professionals incorporates this new technology into their workflow. HD-LiDAR is quickly replacing the photogrammetric approach – this session will demonstrate why.
