The Mid-Atlantic Geospatial Transportation Group helps transportation professionals stay abreast of advances in geospatial technology and assists GIS professionals navigate transportation-specific issues by promoting events where we may share knowledge, news and successful practices with each other.

GIS Day is a Global Initiative to show GIS making a Difference in Local Communities. The full day of events will inform you of geospatial initiatives throughout the Region. Speakers from State and County agencies as well as private companies will present a series of short overviews about how GIS is being used to better accomplish goals, manage public resources and analysis problems to find innovative solution. Hands-on workshops will help you brush up on your skills or learn new ones. Take a tour of Palmyra Nature Cove’s mobile Geoscience and Remote Sensing Lab or Control Point Associates’ LiDAR Collection Vehicle. Take the Feature Challenge to test your geographic knowledge or peruse Map submissions from GIS students professional alike and vote for your favorites.

Come network, learn and celebrate. Plenty of time has been scheduled for questions and answers for each presentation and workshop. There will be networking opportunities during breaks as well as time to catch up with industry colleagues over a delightful breakfast or buffet lunch provided by generous donations by the event’s sponsors.
